Job Summary: The Staff Accountant is responsible for completing the monthly closing processes for divisional and corporate entities.  Review and prepare journal entries, analyze and publish financial statements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare monthly/quarterly/annual financial statements.
  • Process journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Assist with ongoing audits.
  • Financial analysis.
  • Fixed Asset Maintenance.
  • Provides ERP Software Support for locations nationwide.
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
  • Willingness to accept and take on new duties, responsibilities, and miscellaneous projects.

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum Associate Degree in accounting or finance, Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance preferred.
  • 1 or more years of accounting experience required, preferably in a distribution or manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics Ax a plus.

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • The successful candidate should have excellent computer (Excel and Word) skills; exceptional problem-solving abilities and good organizational skills
  • Familiar with GAAP
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Problem analysis and problem resolution at both a strategic and functional level
  • Ability for occasional overnight travel is possible with this position
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
