The steel slitting operation requires expert set-up and operating skills for running a compound steel slitter. Attention to safety is a must, as raw material weight can exceed 6000 lbs. The operator will be required to process a minimum of 8,000 lbs. per 8-hour shift.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Operate and understand all functions and uses of a compound steel slitter and hoist system.
  • Ideal candidate will have working knowledge of shear slitting head set-up.
  • Assist in directing our Rewinding Dept.
  • Monitor and maintain all safety equipment as required.
  • Train staff as requested on the safety procedures and practices in place on the equipment.
  • Properly package finished goods.
  • Assist with general clean-up as needed.
  • Assist with loading and unloading trucks.
  • Will be required to perform all other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • 1-3 years of production and/or warehouse experience is required.
