The Purchasing Manager ensures that all materials are stocked to operate the plant in an efficient manner. Communicates with suppliers, vendors, and sales to manage resale products and raw materials to support production.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manage purchase orders and raw material release requirements.
• Maintain inventory levels to support production requirements.
• Manage supplies and vendors’ delivery performance.
• Anticipate lead-times to ensure proper inventory stock levels.
• Verify raw material receipts.
• Manage supplier debit procedures.
• Maintain approved vendor list.
• Verify material shipment receipt dates and communicate with shipping & cut-off department to allocate labor and floor space.
• Overall understanding of material part numbers, where used, amount used, and type of material.
• Complete related administrative tasks as required.
• Pro-actively participate in company-wide continuous improvement activities.
• Other duties as assigned.

Experience and Qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years of experience in inventory control.
• Minimum 2 year of experience in purchasing.
• Associate degree in in supply chain, purchasing or related field preferred.
• Strong knowledge of logistics and supply chain operations.
• Knowledge of manufacturing/warehouse operations and best practices.

• Ability to negotiate favorable terms with suppliers.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Strong problem-solving abilities.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office /D365 software.
• Customer oriented.
