The Production Supervisor is responsible for the daily operation of the manufacturing facility. Effective communication with employees at all levels and from diverse backgrounds is important along with organizational skills for overseeing the scheduling of production and handling of shipping responsibilities. Ensures that all company policies and procedures are followed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Oversee the safety of the facility and equipment, and assures a safe working environment, at all times, for all employees. Ensures that all employees are following all safety and OSHA regulations as well as performing safety checks and preventative maintenance.
• Maintains effective leadership to ensure profitability by following cost saving guidelines and proper record keeping to ensure that inventory levels are acurate.
• Works with Sales and Customer Service Representatives of the company to process and stage orders as needed for LTL and FTL outbound shipments.
• Schedules inbound materials, labor, production and finished product deliveries based on sales demand.  Confirms deliveries with the sales team on a regular basis.
• Supervises plant workers. Oversees all work being completed to assure that all personnel are performing activities in an effective and efficient manner.
• Communicates operational issues to the plant manager on a timely basis. In matters of communication always presents themselves in a positive, cooperative, and professional matter.
• Manages the quality of the products being distributed, produced and sold, and the inventory levels to control cost and maintain efficient levels of product as needed. Provides quality products to customers while abiding by industry standards. Maintains the safety of the environment, the quality of the products and the levels of inventory to control and prevent losses.
• Evaluate staff to include recruitment, provide any necessary/required employee training, conduct annual performance appraisals, and administers the progressive disciplinary process when needed.
• Operation of machinery as needed to include operation of all manufacturing equipment to include cutters, winders, printers, extruders, forklifts, and gravimetric blenders.
• Assist with maintenance and troubleshooting of various plastic extrusion machinery.
• Will be required to perform all other duties as requested, directed or assigned by leadership.

Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Two- or four-year degree in related area preferred.
• Preferred 3 years of supervisory experience preferably within a production environment.
• Experience working with freight companies such as LTL and FTL desired.
