The Gas Fireplace Service Technician serves existing accounts by analyzing work orders, pre-planned daily travel schedule, investigating complaints, conducting tests and resolving problems.  The Fireplace Service Technician will drive a company vehicle to customer locations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities of a Gas Fireplace Service Technician:

  • Establishes service by studying system requirements, ordering and gathering components and parts, completing installation and performing acceptance tests.
  • Maintains rapport with customers by examining complaints, identifying solutions, suggesting improved methods and techniques.
  • Keeps personal equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies and performing preventive maintenance.
  • Documents service and installation actions by completing forms, reports, logs and records.
  • Maintains customer confidence by keeping service information confidential.
  • Must maintain a current and valid driver’s license with a good driving record.

Education and Experience of a Gas Fireplace Service Technician:

  • One year of experience in gas fireplace service or related HVAC preferred.
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Must provide hand tools including: pliers, hammer, measuring tape, power drill, wrench set (metric & English) and multi-meter.

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities of a Gas Fireplace Service Technician:

  • Troubleshooting, analyzing information, judgment, client relationships, equipment maintenance, reporting skills, confidentiality, quality focus, results driven and supply management.
